| It's been a great season for the Miami Hurricanes, and thanks to that, a great season for Gold Coast Mac as well.
Through 6 home games at the Orange Bowl, GCMac volunteers worked hard pouring beer and slinging peanuts, and have helped raise almost $3000 for GCM an projects in the coming year!
The final home game against Boston College produced a win for UM and about $450 in revenue for Gold Coast Mac. The income will make it possible for GCMac to begin investigating a new projector, to replace the one now used at meetings. Projectors have reduced in size while resolution has improved since our purchase. Now that the laptop computers often used by presenters work best with a higher resolution, GCMac needs to consider upgrading our equipment to accomodate. The money raised by the hard volunteers at the Orange Bowl will make that possible, and if you enjoy our meeting programs, you have them to thank..
If you have never volunteered to work at the GCMac concession stand, please consider making yourself available. We have events occasionally through the year, and can always use the help. The results are truly worth the small effort, and ask anyone who volunteered this year: It's also a lot of fun!
