Apple Store Opens at The Falls: Sneak Peek Photos!
This is the entrance of the store, looking to the front from the Digital Video section. The day we toured, workers were busy swarming the store when we arrived, trying to get last minute displays complete. They literally worked up until the last second. The false front is still covering the store preventing everyone (but you) from peeking in.
From the front of the store, you can see the layout is spacious and bright. The store is laid out with different areas of interest, surrounding the Theatre and the software islands.
Does this really need an explanation? This illustrates how the various parts of the "digital hub" work together seamlessly with your Mac as the center.
Gold Coast Mac president Dave Game was one of the lucky journalists to get a sneak preview of the Apple Store.

Each computer is connected to the Internet and networked via Airport. Employees make sure every machine is set up and running properly before the start of the day.
Each one of Apple's computer models is showcased in each basic configuration. If you want to play with a 600 mHz iBook, you'll find it here.
Linda Turner, Apple retail manager from Chicago, demonstrates an iBook. In the background is Tom Summers, manager of The Falls Apple Store.
From the rear of the store, looking toward the software islands. Apple says it will carry nearly 600 titles in stock, and a quick check found titles we haven't seen carried in any local store.
This is the Kids Center. The black balls give the rugrats a place to settle in with iMacs loaded with kids educational software and games. Kids titles are located right in the section.

Need a cable? A USB hub? Printers, inks, you name it? This is where "everything else" can be found. And guess what? If it's here, it works with a Mac!
The concept behind the Apple Stores is to show you solutions, and give you working tools to let you try your hand. Everything works, and if you don't understand, someone knows how to give you help.
Interested in using your digital camera? Not only will they sell you the computer for processing the image, they'll sell you the camera...and help you get the most out of it with presentations and personalized advice.

Need a hand? Have a question? Can't find tech support? Just belly up to the Genius Bar, where a resident Mac Expert can answer your question, or use a direct hotline to a guru in Cupertino who can! Here, CBS4 News consumer reporter Al Sunshine and videojournalist Rafael Murciano, both Mac users, get an explanation of how it works from Apple's Linda Turner.
Next to the Genius bar is the Theater, where Apple will present demonstrations of products and techniques in both English and Spanish. It's a quick and easy way to fill up on some Mac smarts, and then do something about it!
Take a good look. You'll probably never see the store this empty again. Videojournalist Rafael Murciano takes a close up of the digital cameras on display.
Bored with what's on your software shelf? Cure that here. Apple has committed to having the best possible selection of Macintosh software at its Apple Stores, and we're told it's all in stock. If you're tired of being disappointed, check out this section.
