In a race marked by one of the largest fields of candidates in Gold Coast Mac history, GCMac Vice President Esver Camacho as selected to move up to the Presidents chair, and three newcomers gained places on the Board of Directors.
Ballots were accepted through the break of the June general meeting, and then announced after the break.
Elected to serve as officers for 2003-2004 were:
President: Esver Camacho
Secretary: Andre Perwin
Treasurer: TJ Carlon
Under Gold Coast Mac bylaws, the two candidates for Director with the greatest numbers of votes are named Vice Presidents for the coming year. The candidates named to those posts were both former Gold Coast Mac Presidents, Charlie Carlon and Rose Lynn.
From the 12 remaining candidates of the field of 14, the 6 with the highest vote totals were elected to the post of Director. They are, in no order:
Jim Bolinger (re-elected)
Felicia Sternbach (re-elected)
Giuseppe DiFranco (re-elected)
Three new faces were added to the board at the request of the voters. Names to board posts were:
Orlando Luna
Laura Coe
Richard Lynn
Rounding out the board as unelected members, who are automatically named to seats pursuant to the Bylaws are Dave Game, who serves as Immediate Past President, and Van Martin, who has a permanent seat as Founding Director.
The results were announced following a brief ceremony in which outgoing President Dave Game thanked the board for their service, and presented them with framed certificates of appreciation. In return, board members presented Game with a certificate and a gift, tools for his home bar.
After the announcement of the new board was made, the 2003-2004 Board of Directors was introduced to the membership.
Game expressed his personal thanks to the members who ran for the board but were not elected; Gus Medina, Yusty Saltzman, Dave Ertley, Dale LeCornu, Marvin Schenkman, and Z'Garci. He also thanked outgoing board members Rafael Marerro, Jan Barkan, and Sandy Medina for their service in the past year.
