The Gold Coast Mac Holiday iMac raffle was an overwhelming success, and an early holiday present for the lucky member who won.
Sandy Medina held the lucky ticket drawn at the end of our December Holiday Meeting, one of 50 chances sold to win a $799 iMac Indigo. She gave a shout of surprise after hearing her name called, and walked the the stage to claim her prize.
The raffle had been scheduled to be held at the end of the January meeting, but the decision was made to hold it at the Holiday meeting after all 50 tickets sold out within minutes. Members were lined up hoping for chance to buy an opportunity to win the computer, which was donated to Gold Coast Mac by MacCenter in Fort Lauderdale.
Sandy, a computer specialist with Miami-Dade Schools, was presented her prize by MacCenter Manager Rafael Marrero, who promised her complete support for her new addition. Marerro also offered holders of the losing tickets a chance to win a second computer, by redeeming them at MacCenter for two tickets to a free movie screening, where an iBook would be given away to one lucky moviegoer.
The raffle raised $1000, which will be used for Gold Coast Mac community service projects and to help cover operating expenses.
Gold Coast Mac warmly thanks our enthusiastic supporters at MacCenter for helping our organization, while making the holidays a little brighter for one of our members!
