e-Mail List (Listserver) Sign Up

Listserver Signup
INSTRUCTIONS

Joining, leaving, or changing options is done by sending e-mail messages.

How to SUBSCRIBE to the GC Mac Listserver:

Step One: Click on the Subscribe button below. This first step of the subscription process will take you you to an on-line form where you will be required to provide us your real name and e-mail address. It’s a nuisance, but this is for your protection! It will prevent spam mail-bots from joining our list and "mining” your e-mail address to add to their spam mailing lists.

Step Two: You will then get a confirmation e-mail to the address you provided. It will ask you to confirm your subscription by clicking on a link that should launch a new message. Just reply to the message with the code number in the subject line. (You may have to cut and paste the code number into the subject line.) It is not necessary to add any additional information either to the subject line or the body of the message. Once that message is sent, you're signed up!

Remember: You don't have to do anything to the e-mail that is created for you (including the initial confirmation e-mail you receive after filling out the form) except click send!

If you would prefer to get only one mailing per day that contains all of the messages:

Step One: You must first Subscribe. (See the two-step process above.)

Step Two: When you get an e-mail message welcoming you to the list, return to this page and click on the Digest button below. This will send a pre-formatted e-mail to the listserver, which will then handle your request. It is not necessary to add any additional information either to the subject line or the body of the message. (If you wish to change from Digest to Standard mode, click on the Standard button, and send that pre-formatted email.)

Important: For this subscription process to work, you must be signed in to the e-mail account you intend to use to receive listserver messages. The subscription e-mail reads your address, and will use that address for your listserver messages. Subscribing, by default, sends a copy of any message posted to the list to your e-mail account.

You might find it helpful to bookmark this page for future reference.
You can't get directly to it on the GCMac website.

Subscribe START HERE. This button adds you to the GCMac Listserver, a general discussion list. You must do this first, before you can take any any other actions regarding the list. When you subscribe, every time someone sends an e-mail to the list, a copy will be sent to you at this e-mail account. Subscribe
Digest Mode
Digest Mode allows you to get a single daily e-mail containing a summary of all messages that day. To use this method, you must first subscribe, and receive a confirmation e-mail. Then return to this page and click this button to switch to Digest mode.
Digest mode
Standard Mode
This is the default for all subscriptions. Every time someone sends an e-mail to the list, a copy will be sent to you. You can respond to someone individually, or reply to the entire list. Click this button if you have previously switched to Digest mode, and now prefer to get individual messages.
Standard
Unsubscribe
This will close your account and stop messages from being sent to you. Do this if you've decided the listserver is not for you. This request must be sent from the e-mail account where you receive your listserver messages.
