| This report on the trouble facing charitable organizations like the Miami Rescue Mission was internationally broadcast on CNN. |
This has been an important year for charitable giving, and we realize everyone's goodwell has been tested by the need. Hundreds of millions of dollars have flowed into the funds benefiting victims of terrorism, and those dollars were truly needed.
But needed as well are the dollars which local charitable organizations depend upon for good works right here at home. Despite the events of September 11th, that need has not disappeared. On the contrary, with the downturn in the economy, the programs of the Miami Rescue Mission have become more taxed, and are needed more than ever. It's tough to ask you to give more, but it's tougher to turn away those truly in need of help. Watch Mark Potter's report on CNN, and ask if you can truly find it in your heart to bridge the gap between giving and need, and help keep the programs of the Miami Rescue Mission alive in these uncertain times.
