New Membership Cards Available

Gold Coast Mac is offering new membership cards to all members who were current as of June 1, 2002, as part of a new program to create cards faster for members, and make it easier for volunteers. Members can get the cards at the June meeting, or by mail.

The new membership cardThe new cards were designed by GCMac board member Guiseppe DiFranco, and are stored as part of the group’s member database. The new database will allow GCMac to generate new cards automatically when a member joins or renews, and should end the recent problem we’ve had with getting up to date membership cards.

The new membership cards will be smaller, printed on business card stock, and will not be laminated, in order to save creation time and expense.. Since the design is changing slightly, we are asking all members to pick up a new card, so our retailers who offer discounts to members can be sure they are getting current cards. Members can continue to use their current card, but may have difficulty at some retailers having them honored.

Cards will be available at the June 2002 meeting for all members, and may be picked up. The cards will be available at meetings or by mail, if you send a self addressed, stamped envelope to the GCMac Post Office Box. Because mail fulfillment is done by volunteers, please allow three weeks for mail requests to be satisfied.
