GC Mac Participates in Tech Galaxy 2004

President Esver Camacho, and Board members Rose Lynn and Orlando Luna were speakers at Tech Galaxy 2004 on Saturday March 27 in Davie, at the Nova Southeastern University campus.

Rose Lynn gave her presentation Making User Groups Fun at 10 a.m. Esver Camacho presented Building and Maintaining Membership at 1 p.m. And Orlando Luna had three sessions on Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro at 11 am, 1 pm, and 2 pm.

Gold Coast Mac and South Florida Final Cut Pro User Group also had tables at Tech Galaxy. Over 100 people stopped by to see what was going on with the Mac and FCP community in this area, as well as with other computer users. "You don't have to be a techie to be there," Rose Lynn said -- but a lot of techies were there!

This gathering gave the area computer user a chance to network, to learn, and to discover the variety of user groups. Thirteen groups were invited, and twenty-three seminars were on the schedule. There also were representatives from Flux Linux UG, SOFLOJUG Java UG, the .NET, CISCO and Palm groups, and even a representative from the Ft. Lauderdale SIGGRAPH chapter.

The event was considered a great success by organizer Dr. Raul Salazar, of JHL Technologies. He's already planning next year's event. For more information, check out the event website. http://www.techgalaxy.org
