Titanium PowerBook Purchased for Club Use

Dave and Esver unpack new computerGold Coast Mac President Dave Game has helped GCMac members move into the next generation of Mac computing, by completing a member mandate to purchase a new Apple Titanium 550 PowerBook for the use of the organization.

The new computer, which is OSX capable with a 550 mHz G4 processor and 512 MB of RAM, was purchased with the proceeds of the Gold Coast Mac profits from operating this year's beer stand at the Orange Bowl. The computer was configured with an Airport card to facilitate wireless networking. It cost the members $2300 including the card and tax, and was purchased from Mac Center on December 8th, after members gave their approval for the purchase at the Holiday Meeting.
